Une unité paysagère est le fruit d’une histoire entre un milieu naturel (sol, pente, exposition, végétation) et son exploitation ainsi que son occupation par les populations alsaciennes. Ces modes et types d’occupation du sol différenciés par unité ont façonné et produit un paysage propre et identitaire dans lequel les habitants et les visiteurs se reconnaissent. Ces paysages produisent des éléments de la Trame Verte et Bleue alsacienne.
